​Kabul Mayor visits FMIC​​​​​

Kabul, Tuesday, May 27, 2014: The mayor of Kabul, Eng Mohammad Yonus Nowandish, visited the French Medical Institute for Children and the Expanded Medical Complex today. He was accompanied by General Director and Chief Operating Officer, FMIC, Mr Aziz Jan and Dr Abdullah Fahim.

The Mayor expressed his satisfaction at FMIC’s efforts in developing the area as a hub of health care delivery which he said was a great source of expertise for all of Afghanistan besides helping the community. 

The visit came at the end of the stone laying ceremony for a street around FMIC. The community neighbouring FMIC has been trying to secure the reconstruction of the streets and roads in the vicinity on a priority basis.  After several requests to the Kabul Municipality, the community finally succeeded to get approval for the infrastructure project costing US$ 420,000 which is being funded by the World Bank and administered by Hamkar Organization.

Addressing the audience during the ceremony, Dr Fahim stated that FMIC, as a part of this community felt a responsibility to take part in this ceremony. He said that reconstruction of this street will not only help the community but also FMIC in its future extension programmes.
