On September 29, 2025, the FMIC proudly commemorated World Heart Day with an enlightening presentation by Dr. Mohibullah Ahmadzai, Consultant & Cardiac Surgeon at FMIC. The event attracted approximately 57 medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and medical students, all eager to enhance their understanding of patient safety.

Dr. Ahmadzai delivered a comprehensive presentation that covered a wide range of topics. He began with an introduction to World Heart Day, discussing the global burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and the purpose of the day, which serves as a platform to address several key issues.

Key topics included:

• Major risk factors for heart disease

• The impact of high blood pressure

• The effects of an unhealthy diet

• Healthy diet recommendations

• The risks associated with smoking and alcohol use
