Kabul, November 15, 2021: The French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) conducted a CME session at Khair Khana 102 Bedded Hospital on the topic of “adnexal mass”. The 2-hour session was held with 33 women participants from different medical disciplines like gynaecology, surgery, and internal medicine. The hospital invited one of the renowned FMIC adult surgeons, Dr Mohammad Mujib Sakhi who was already engaged in plenty of adult and oncologic surgeries.

He presented the topic by depicting different cases of benign and cancerous mass, solid and fluid masses, age-associated with adnexal mass and giving the examples of case reports in other countries which showed that adnexal mass can happen to women at any age group and can be a threat to the reproductive health of women.

The session comprised a scientific discussion between the participants and the presenter. The participants believed that the case is so prevalent in Afghanistan and they should apply the right method to manage such patients and share these cases with FMIC consultants for proper diagnosis.

Overall, the session was appreciated by the participants and the leadership of Khair Khana 102 Hospital for promoting the culture of sharing knowledge amongst the healthcare providers.
