​​​​​How to take care of newborn babies? French neonatologist explains​​​​​​​​​​

​“About 10 per 1000 babies born with the need for active resuscitation gestures during the first minutes of their lives; Risky situations aren’t always foreseen, therefore, anticipation, assessment and management are the important points to consider for taking care of newborn babies in delivery room” stated Dr Pascale LEVASSEUR, Paediatrician Neonatologist.

Dr Pascale LEVASSEUR was speaking at a Continuing Medical Education Session in FMIC organized by Marketing and Communications Department.

The topic of the CME session was “Taking care of newborn babies in the delivery room” and different issues regarding care of newborn babies were discussed. Meanwhile, doctors shared their expertise on caring of new born babies and the cases they have faced. 

Internal Medicine doctors, Pediatricians, Midwives, Nurses and other health professionals were present in the session. The 116 participants were from MSF, Dasht-e Barchi Hospital, Rabia Balkhi Hospital, Royal Medical Complex, Referral doctors, Ariana Institute of Higher Education along with Phase II nurses and Midwives and FMIC doctors.

The CME session concluded by remarks of Dr Abdullah Fahim, Medical Director. He welcomed the participants and stated, “The conduct of this session by Phase II Medical Mission coincides with the inauguration of Women’s Wing and it is while that the hospital will be a Mothers and Child Hospital in next coming months”. He also expressed such sessions a good opportunity for knowledge sharing. “It is quite impressive and we are happy for hosting a large number of doctors in this session” concluded Dr Fahim.

The participants also shared their feedbacks on the session with filling out the evaluation forms and they have noted the session a good opportunity for learning and also bringing together a large group of doctors together from different specialties.
