Life had always been a struggle for Sanawbar and her family, who lived in modest circumstances in the Karta-e-Sakhi neighborhood of Kabul. A Lifesaving Diagnosis and a Glimmer of Hope

Sanawbar's journey toward recovery began when she was referred to the cardiology department at the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC). After an echocardiogram, the specialists uncovered the root of her condition: atrial septal defect (ASD), a congenital heart defect. Thankfully, FMIC had the expertise and facilities to treat her condition effectively, offering hope for a healthier future.

Compassionate Care Made Possible Through LHSS Support

The cost of Sanawbar's treatment was estimated at 330,000 AFN, a daunting figure for her family. However, the Life-Saving Health Services Support (LHSS) project stepped in, covering 90% of her expenses. This generous support made it possible for Sanawbar to undergo the necessary surgery and postoperative care without financial ruin for her family.

A New Chapter of Health and Gratitude

Following a successful operation, Sanawbar's health has been restored. She is now leading a life free from the burden of her heart condition, and her family is overjoyed to see her regain her strength and vitality. Her husband expressed heartfelt gratitude to FMIC and the LHSS project, whose support turned an overwhelming challenge into a story of hope and healing.

A Beacon of Possibility

Sanawbar's remarkable recovery is a testament to the transformative power of accessible and compassionate healthcare. Her story not only highlights the expertise of FMIC's medical team but also underscores the critical role of charitable initiatives like the LHSS project in saving lives and bringing hope to families in need.
