Background
Since 2006, the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, has served patients from all 34 provinces. FMIC provides specialized consultations, advanced diagnostics (CT, MRI, radiology), surgeries, a 24/7 pharmacy, and state-of-the-art laboratory testing. It has recorded over 2.3 million patient visits and consultations, conducted 6.8 million laboratory tests, and performed 59,000 surgeries, including more than 5,700 paediatric and adult cardiac procedures. As Afghanistan's first ISO and SafeCare-certified hospital (recertified in 2024), FMIC has pioneered open-heart surgery, advanced diagnostics, and telemedicine, earning the IHF Award in 2021.
With a 176-bed capacity and a highly skilled Afghan medical team, FMIC is committed to advancing healthcare excellence. Through its Patient Welfare Support Programme, it has provided over $57.6 million in subsidized or free care, ensuring equitable access to high-quality treatment for vulnerable populations.
Job summary:
Responsible to solve all client's computers hardware and application related issue and ensure to maintain
communication system and network to maximize availability.
Job Responsibilities:
a. Regular Responsibilities:
Installation and hardware support for ITC equipment.
Maintain the daily checklist logs of all operations.
Install and manage all networks printers for user and on HIS system.
Provide first line maintenance of all main computer hardware including hardware trouble shooting if require.
Installation and hardware support for computers/printers/ servers and telephone sets.
Install OS and other applications as required on computers.
Maintain operations activity logs and event trail and hardware error logs.
Fabrications of cables for various main computer related equipment and client computers.
Attend daily complains on time from the helpdesk software on daily basis
Provide MS Office and other applications training to users to work efficiently.
Responsible to provide PABX support to the end users.
Responsible to inventory for required hardware parts.
Process and maintain the record of telephone, internet, system certificates and domain registration renewals and monthly payments.
Any other related task assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Managing the LAB Machine Integration with LIS and vendor management.
ICT Backup System planning and execution.
b. Periodic Responsibilities
Respond to trouble calls on main system during nights and emergency situations.
Ensure preventive maintenance of Servers, Racks, Switches and routers is carried out on schedule.
Responsible to plan and perform the windows patching activity on all servers once in a quarter.
Responsible to restore the backup of security cameras once in a month to test the recording.
c. Any other factors
Late night sitting to finish IT projects on time
Provide support on off days.
Qualification and Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science.
IT Training: MCSE, CCNA (Must), A+ Hardware
Knowledge, competencies and Skills:
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under difficult working conditions.
Good computer skills, especially MS Office.
Good knowledge of Printer maintenance.
Work experience:
2 or 4 years related work experience.
