Indira Gandhi Hospital attanded a CME on Brachial plexus birth palsy
The marketing and communications department, in
collaboration with the orthopedic department, conducted a CME in the hospital
on March 21, 2024. Dr. Royeed Dehzad, FMIC Orthopedic Surgeon, presented a
comprehensive lecture on brachial plexus birth palsy to 22 doctors from
the orthopedic and plastic surgery departments. During the session,
participants were briefed about the anatomy of the brachial plexus, etiology,
types of plexus injury, extent of plexus injury, differential diagnosis,
diagnosis and clinical continuum, pre- and post-ganglionic lesions, mallet
classification, diagnostic investigation, and effects of brachial plexus palsy on
the shoulder, treatment, and also the microsurgery, preoperative evaluation,
and surgical technique exposure.
The administration and attendees from Indira
Gandhi Hospital praised the FMIC's initiative in organizing CME and requested for more sessions in the future. Participants thanked
Dr. Royeen Dehzad for his extensive
presentations and sharing scientific information with them.
FMIC intends to hold more CME workshops in the future to improve knowledge
and skills of health practitioners, including doctors and nurses, in various
public hospitals in Kabul.
