The Marketing and Communications Department, in collaboration with the Vision Department, successfully conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at FMIC.
On September 30, 2024, the Marketing and Communications Department, in collaboration with the Vision Department, successfully conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session at FMIC.
A total of 50 doctors and medical students attended the session. Dr. Fawad delivered a comprehensive lecture on diabetic retinopathy, addressing the following key topics:
Overview of diabetic retinopathy
Criteria for diagnosing diabetic retinopathy
Classification of diabetic retinopathy
Fundus examination techniques
Normal findings in fundoscopy
Fundoscopy for diabetes and hypertension
Proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Testing methods for diabetic retinopathy
Treatment options for proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Additionally, Dr. Fawad provided insights on what to observe during a fundoscopy and discussed the classification of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
As the session wrapped up, attendees enthusiastically interacted with the presenter, asking many questions about the topic, which she answered thoroughly. The doctors thanked FMIC for organizing the CME session and showed a keen interest in attending similar events in the future.
FMIC intends to keep hosting CME sessions to improve the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, in various hospitals throughout Kabul.
