Intensive Care Units (ICUs)

The ICUs at FMIC comprises of 34 full-service intensive care beds (including negative pressure rooms for patients who require isolation) managed by a multidisciplinary team of experts including; Intensivists, pulmonologist, cardiologists and Critical Care Nurses. There are 15 beds allocated for pediatric and adult patients, 14 beds for neonates, and 5 beds; 2 Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and 3 Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for adult patients with cardiac conditions. Besides these, there are 13 additional beds designated as Step Down Unit (SDU) that meets the requirement of patients who need close monitoring. 

Our ICUs are equipped with advanced state of art technology including; ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, syringe and infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors that are capable of invasive monitoring and generating clinical alerts/alarms. 

Both medical and surgical patients who require intensive assessment and/or management have cared for 24/7 in our ICUs. care is provided by competent healthcare professionals including; Consultants and Critical Care Nurses that have been trained to deal with and deliver high-quality care for critically ill patients with medical and surgical conditions. 

We ensure high quality and comprehensive care to prevent complications, optimize patient outcomes and decrease the length of patients’ hospital stay.
