On August 26, 2024, the Marketing and Communications Department, in collaboration with the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, conducted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) at Dashti Barchi Hospital. Dr.  Karima Sadat,  a four-year resident from FMIC, delivered a comprehensive lecture on laparoscopy.

A total of 26 doctors and nurses from Dashti Barchi Hospital attended the session. Dr. Saddat's lecture encompassed various topics such as the basics of laparoscopy instruments, the basics of laparoscopy prouder, application of laparoscopy, laparoscopy as a diagnostic tool,  laparoscopy as chronic pelvic pain, laparoscopy in ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopy in pelvic inflammatory diseases, laparoscopy in endometriosis, laparoscopy in ovarian cyst, laparoscopy in adnexal torsion, laparoscopy in acheilia, and laparoscopy in myomectomy.

Additionally, she explained the risk factors, complications, advantages, disadvantages, and benefits of laparoscopy.

Toward the end of the session, attendees engaged actively with the presenter, asking numerous questions about the topic, which were addressed comprehensively. The doctors praised FMIC for organizing the CME session and expressed interest in attending more such sessions.

 

FMIC plans to continue hosting CME sessions to enhance the knowledge and skills of health practitioners, including doctors and nurses, across various hospitals in Kabul.
