Doctors and Medical Students benefited from CME session at FMIC
The marketing and communications department, in
collaboration with the radiology department, conducted a continuing medical
education session at the FMIC Auditorium on May 29, 2024. Dr Jamsheed Sadiqi,
FMIC consultant radiologist, presented a comprehensive lecture on
interventional radiology, a less-invasive method with many options. A total of
58 doctors and medical students from different universities benefitted from the
session. During the session, participants were briefed about interventional
radiology (IR), its main benefits, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures,
Diagnostic IR, therapeutic IR, uterine fibroid angioembolization, renal AML
angioembolization, catheter placement, ablation, radiofrequency ablation,
genitourinary, nephrostomy, DJ stent insertion, techniques for specific
disorders, Biliary intervention, percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage,
angiography, neurological intervention, intracranial aneurysm, and balloon
angioplasty in lower limb ischemia.
Towards the end, attendees posed questions about the topic, which were answered by the presenter. Attendees thanked FMIC for organizing the CME and indicated their desire for similar sessions in the future.
FMIC plans to host more CME sessions in the future to increase the knowledge and abilities of health practitioners, including doctors and nurses, at Kabul's numerous hospitals.
