February 11, 2026 –FMIC hosted an engaging health awareness session titled “Breastfeeding," led by Dr. Gulali Wardak, a third-year resident. The event attracted 80 participants from the local community, showcasing the organization's commitment to maternal health education.
During the session, attendees participated in discussions covering a variety of important topics, including:
Exclusive breastfeeding
Benefits of breastfeeding
Key points about milk
Correct methods of breastfeeding
The significance of skin-to-skin contact
Optimal breastfeeding positions
Additionally, Dr. Wardak addressed signs of hunger in infants and provided steps to increase breast milk production, as well as the differences between breast milk and other milks.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Shaheer screened
the babies for signs of malnutrition, referring those in need of further
assistance to FMIC. Participants expressed their gratitude for FMIC’s
dedication to health education and resources, highlighting the vital role such
awareness sessions play in empowering local communities and improving maternal
health outcomes.
