April 26, 2026 — FMIC hosted a health awareness session titled “Malaria," led by Dr. Wahidullah Wardak, Consultant in Internal Medicine. The session attracted participants from the local community, reflecting the organization's ongoing commitment to promoting public health awareness.

 

During the session, attendees engaged in informative discussions covering a wide range of topics. These included general information about malaria, its prevalence, and recent disease outbreaks in Afghanistan. Dr. Wardak explained the causes of malaria, its transmission through mosquito vectors, and the lifecycle of the parasite, including both asexual stages and the sporogony cycle.

He also highlighted key aspects such as the symptoms of malaria, laboratory diagnosis, available treatment options, and the risks associated with malaria during pregnancy. The session further addressed incidence patterns and emphasized the importance of prevention and early detection.
