Dr Nabila Nikpai is checking the teeth of one of the community boys.

Kabul: The FMIC Community Engagement Team with the collaboration of the FMIC dental department conducted a free dental checkup for 44 local community boys and girls at FMIC.

Dr Nooria Alkozai and Dr Nabila Nikpai FMIC stomatologists highlighted that "Approximately 30-40% of girls had dental cruise and gum inflammation". Moreover, Dr Naveed Hassan Zada and Dr Hedayatullah Nayab FMIC Dental Assistant provided consultations to all of the boys and girls. Afterwards, these teenagers received the necessary advice from dental doctors to understand any issues before they become very serious.

Moreover, the Community Engagement Team distributed packages of toothpaste and toothbrushes for them to practice oral hygiene at home.

A regular dental checkup is important, and everyone should get one every six months. People who regularly get checkups are less likely to ever deal with a serious dental issue that requires invasive treatment.

The checkups are arranged by the leadership of the health subcommittee of the community. They are happy to send more kids for dental checkups at FMIC in the coming months.
