​​​Outside Doctors Benefited from CME of Hirschsprung Disease in Children

​On October 13, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Marketing and Communications department, in collaboration with the  paediatric surgery department, held a CME in FMIC auditorium. The paediatric surgery department doctors presented ten presentations over the workshop of a 5-hour session. 62 doctors and nurses from various hospitals attended the session. The following topics  are in below:

The topics included: Introduction of Hirschsprung, classification, clinical presentation, enterocolitis, complications, associated conditions, anorectal manometry, Rectal Biopsy, differential diagnosis, recto-sigmoid ratio, micro colon, Hirschsprung Disease Types, ultrashort segment disease, X-ray findings of HD, CT scan, differential diagnosis, meconium ileus, patient's condition before surgery, history of the disease. radiological examination, an abdominal x-ray (supine), lab examination, operative findings, management challenges, and treatment.

They also briefed about Hirschsprung disease, which is a developmental disorder of the intrinsic component of the enteric nervous system that is characterized by the absence of ganglion cells in the myenteric and submucosal plexuses of the distal intestine. It is characterized by the absence of ganglion cells in the myenteric and submucosal plexuses of the intestine. In 5% to 10% of cases, it can involve the entire colon or even a significant amount of the small intestine. 

At the end of the sessions, the certificates were also distributed  to the participants.
