Staff Family  attended training on “Newborn Care”  ​

​On March 14, 2023, a session was organized regarding newborn care. The session was presented by Mrs Nazia Barat and attended by 61 family members of FMIC staff. During the session, she covered: the definition of a newborn, explained the four basic needs of a baby soon after birth, the steps of newborn care soon after delivery, the standard measurement of the neonate, the APGAR score, and common health issues in newborns. She also discussed the care of newborns at home such as feeding, bathing and normal developmental changes in the period of neonatal, skill of breastfeeding and bathing of a newborn.  At the end of the session, a movie was also shown. 

The screening team then performed a history and physical examination after the presentation. On the basis of it, some of the individuals were referred to FMIC for additional assessment, diagnosis, or therapy. Several of the participants were referred by the screening team to the gynaecology division for relevant issues, the radiology division for mammograms, and the psychology division for mental health issues.
