Marketing and Communications Department Conducted a CME Session on  Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)   at  Ibn Sina Hospital  

On  August 01, 2021, the Marketing and Communications Department held a  CME Session at  Ibn Sina Hospital. The session was facilitated by Dr. Sharif Nassery, FMIC Cardiac Surgeon, which lasted from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. In total,  28 Surgery and Internal Medicine Doctors from Ibn Sina Hospital participated in this event. The presentation covered introduction of IABP, purpose of IABP, indications of LABP, physiologic effect of IABP therapy, the IAB counter pulsation system, expected changes with IABP support in hemodynamic profile in patients with cardiogenic shock, positioning, trigger modes, factors affecting diastolic augmentation, patient management during IABP support, and major physiological effects of counter pulsation include.

In the third quarter 2021, Marketing & Communications department held 8 TV programmes with Tamadon and RTA TVs.

 Local Community Women Received Training on How to Manage Anger and Stress

FMIC Community Engagement Programme conducted a Health Awareness Session (HAS) for the local community women on Thursday 29 July 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Mr. Shaban Ali Noori, FMIC Psychologist, delivered a presentation on How to Manage Anger and Stress . The topics covered by his presentation included the followings:

Why do we get angry or furious?  What is anger? How to recognize your anger?  Ways of expressing anger control techniques?  What does stress mean?  What are the types of stress? How useful is stress management? Knowing your stress and  Dealing with uncontrollable roots.

Breast Cancer Awareness to the Community Women
Community Engagement Programme (CEP) aims to provide health awareness to different groups of the public especially to the neighboring community through training and health awareness sessions. on September 28, 2021, CEP in collaboration with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, conducted a session on “Breast Cancer”. Dr Salma Akbari facilitated the session that was attended by 34 community women. The session topics included definition of cancer, factors and symptoms of cancer, hormonal factors, diagnostic approach and early detection of breast cancer, and  the treatment.   The session was followed by a separate part of open question and answer. The overall feedback of the participants on the program was positive, and the participants promised to share the session’s key messages with their families and other community women.
